The Real Estate Adventures of Sandy & Maryse

The one thing in the living room that really stood out for Sandy and Maryse was the fireplace. Other than that, the rest of the work in the room was limited to minor repairs on the wall where the curtain rod was and painting an accent wall. The floors were refinished along with all the hardwood floors in the house. The ladies also added in-wall speakers in the living room as part of the larger speaker system they had installed on the first floor of the house.

Maryse: We knew we wanted to change the fireplace. And that was a bit of a challenge because it was a dark red and we painted it white and it kept bleeding through. So I think there are about 62 coats of paint on there. We knew we would probably do an accent wall and then we did the sound system in the living room.

Sandy: And we also had the floors redone and we just ended up taking down the old curtains and hardware. The walls were already painted this colour and we liked it and so we kept it. That’s why we decided on the accent wall because we didn’t want to do the whole room if we didn’t have to.
