Before and After
Title
When Sandy and Maryse first saw the entryway, they found it a little claustrophobic. The pointed openings in the tops the doorways and the clothes rod and curtain didn’t help with the “closed-in” feeling.

Sandy: The doorway at the closet was closed in and then there was a shelf that you couldn’t fully access because of the way the doorframe was. And there was a rod under that, but you couldn’t put a real hanger on the rod without it sticking out because it wasn’t wide enough.  We decided it all had to go so that we could put hooks there and put the rod where it actually fits. We did quite a bit there, took everything out, gutted it, put up hooks, and changed the lighting in the foyer.

Maryse: We thought of putting a bench in the front hall.  Actually, I’m glad we didn’t because it’s more open. So if you have a lot of people coming through the door there’s a lot more room to step in. I like the way that turned out.

Sandy: In the hallway area, we put in the iPod dock for the speaker system, which is really fun.  I love that feature.  I would put that in every home I flip if I could because it’s just a lot of fun!
