Before and After
Title
Maryse and Sandy met in 2003 when they were working in the same optometry clinic. Through their friendship they discovered they shared an interest in real estate, and home renovation, as well as, a healthy spirit of adventure. After numerous discussions during breaks and lunches at work, and after factoring in their complete lack of experience, they decide to throw caution to the wind and take the plunge on a house flip project. Meet the ladies and their families, who supported them along the way!

Sandy is 40 years old and hails from a small town in northern Ontario. She has dreamt of renovating and re-selling older, neglected homes for years. Her father owned a construction company and so she was surrounded by construction and building projects since she was a child. However, she did not choose to follow that career path. Instead, she went to optometry school and is currently working as a Certified Optometric Assistant. Sandy is married to Peter, who works at the Library of Parliament in Ottawa. They have two sons: Tyler (14) and Darcy (8). She keeps herself busy juggling work, family, church life, and the kids’ lacrosse schedules.

Peter and Sandy met when they were teenagers and have been married for 16 years. Peter currently works for the Library of Parliament in Ottawa, but his main passion is lacrosse. Over the years he has been involved in one way or another with his sons’ lacrosse teams. He is currently taking a back seat from coaching and is the President of the Nepean Knights Junior "B" Lacrosse Team.

Fourteen-year-old Tyler is in his first year of high school and is very serious about music. He is an accomplished bass player and plays at school and in the band at church. When he’s not rockin' out in the rhythm section, he enjoys playing lacrosse, snowboarding, and skateboarding. Not many people know this about him, but Tyler can also ride a unicycle.

Darcy is an eight-year-old handy-boy. He spent a lot of his time helping his mom and Maryse flip the house. When he’s not Mr. Fix-It, he enjoys banging out some tunes on his drums. This little dude also likes playing lacrosse and watching TV.
