Mountain Road Productions Ltd. (MRP) has developed and produced critically acclaimed and award-winning programs that have aired on a number of networks in Canada and around the world. Selected productions include Lofty Ideas (HGTV Canada, HGTV US, and internationally), Gemini Award winning Broken House Chronicles (HGTV Canada, Discovery Home US, DIY Network Canada and internationally), Gemini Award nominated Me, My House & I with Brigitte Gall (W Network and internationally), Design U (HGTV Canada, Discovery Home USA, ION USA and internationally) and The Restaurant Adventures of Caroline & Dave (W Network). Other productions include Banff World Television Award winner Be Real with JR Digs (TVtropolis, E! Canada), docu-drama series and New York Festivals Finalist Award winner The Real Estate Adventures of Sandy & Maryse (W Network) and Summit Creative Award winning Sheltered, a 4-part documentary series produced for The Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN). Currently, Mountain Road is in production of its second season of Gemini nominated All For Nothing? (W Network), a real estate and design series that pits homeowner against homeowner in a head-to-head competition to determine who can increase the value of their home the most while spending as little money as possible – with the ultimate goal of doing it All For Nothing. Mark Burnett International (MBI) obtained the worldwide distribution and format rights to the series in early 2011.
Well established in the broadcast industry, Mountain Road is now taking its production online after having received funding from the Canadian Media Fund’s (CMF) Experimental Stream to produce a leading-edge, interactive children’s website, Totally Random, which will enable kids to engage with each other in an online playground where they will create and share youthful, random ideas. The website is expected to launch fall 2011.
As a full-service production company MRP has the ability to see each of their projects from conception through to completion. They have a full array of camera and lighting equipment and their in-house post production facility includes two Avid Media Composer off-line suites and an Avid Adrenaline HD and Nitris DX on-line system that are seamlessly integrated together through a central storage drive.
