Tool of the DayThese made the job easier

Tile Cutter
This is a little guillotine. Cuts could be made with a straight edge and a utility knife, but we had problems. The vinyl tile tended to rip and break irregularly. The vinyl tile cutter tool was painless and (almost) fool proof.
George's bathroom floor is falling apart. Since they are going to repair the bathroom floor, they might as well fix the laundry room too! Not as easy as it sounds.
A telethon to raise money for the "Floors are our Friends Fund" inspires the boys to repair the floor in George's bathroom. What seems like a simple project – laying a sheet of vinyl flooring – has the boys stumped. After a few words with the floor, the boys go to the experts to find an easier way to install the floor. They fill, level, and install a beautiful sheet of vinyl flooring. On a roll, the boys continue their flooring adventures and lay vinyl tiles in the laundry room, which is easier said than done. The trick? Let the glue dry and follow the lines.
Lessons Learned
- You don't have to take up the old vinyl or linoleum floor before laying the new one!
- Make sure the floor is completely dry to touch before walking on it. If it is a humid day, try using a fan to make the glue dry faster.
